Tallest dog ever

Measuring an incredible 111.8 cm (44 in) from foot to withers, the Great Dane from Otsego, Michigan, USA was the same size as an average donkey. Standing on hind legs, he stretched to 7 ft 4 in and towered over his owners Kevin and Denise Doorlag. 

The huge hound weighed 70.3 kg (155 pounds or 11 stone) and would eat around 12 cups of food a day (equivalent to one whole 30-lb bag of food).

Meet Lizzy, the Great Dane from Florida, who measures a huge 37.96 in tall.


Lizzy is so tall, she has to eat her food from a bowl that sits on a chair as she cannot reach the floor, and her water bowl has to stay in the garage because she makes such a mess.

Most balls caught by a dog with the paws

Purin is an extremely talented 9-year-old female Beagle and a double record holder who is described as cool, competitive, easy-going and positive by her proud owner Makoto Kumagai (Japan).

The fluffy goalkeeper broke the record for the Most balls caught by a dog with the paws in one minute after she skilfully “saved” 14 mini footballs.

Meet the world’s longest dog tail

You have to watch out when Keon the Irish wolfhound starts wagging his tail because it is a huge 76.8 cm (30.2 in) long. 


The friendly dog has broken the previous record for the Longest tail on a dog, held by a fellow wolfhound, by just over 4.5 cm (1.7 in).
